The girl behind the blog.

My name is Sydney, I’m just an nineteen year old girl with internet access and some pretty strong opinions. I consider myself a Democrat, a feminist, and an egalitarian. I love to stay informed and I use this blog as a tool for helping me both to sharpen my writing skills and as a place to let my opinions be heard. I believe strongly that my generation needs to be more involved in the political system and country/world events, so maybe I can help out with that.

So now that I’ve explained my plans for this blog, here’s a little about me. I’ve been writing since before I learned how to read. I would draw pictures and tell my mom the same story each time based on those pictures (she tells everyone how amazing she thinks that was). I have notebooks all over BOTH of my rooms.. they’re in boxes, under my bed, in my crawl-space- literally everywhere. I also have a book I’ve been working on for about two years now (I keep writing parts and starting over, enriching my vocabulary and descriptions) and I’ve had about two drafts so far. I really hope that someday I can develop this passion into a career and be the next great young adult author. I recently finished my freshman year of college and changed my major from Political Science to English; I’m very serious about pursuing my dreams. I have clinical depression and social anxiety disorder, so another thing that is important to me is spreading knowledge about mental illness and suicide prevention. If you ever need someone to talk to, please do not hesitate to reach out to me through my email (above). Thank you so much for reading my blog! It means the world to me when I read all of your nice comments or see that you’ve followed me ❤

I love reading through comments & emails from you guys!

OMG!! Those are the first three words that came to mind when I read your first sentence. To start off I love your blog set up. It is amazing especially since you started yesterday, right? Here is the weird thing or things: I started my blog yesterday too and I was looking around to follow some good people and I came across your blog. I didn’t start following you until I read your post about who you were and was left speechless after the 1st sentence. Your Awkward reference is the same reference I used yesterday when starting my blog. I hope we can become mutual bloggers. I know I will be following you..everyday!

  2. Wow sounds like your going to do just fine in life. You’ve found your passion at such a young age. Don’t mind if I get a signed copy of your first book. Will be worth something one day. Good luck,
